Belgium is strong in spaceflight. A lot of technological know-how is developped in our country. We are strong in Earth observation (satellite Proba-V), we participate in measuring “space weather” and contributed to astronomy. Further on we took part in Mars exploration and the development of the ATV (Automated Transfer Vehicle) supplying the ISS.

On November 14, 2016, the (full) moon will be closest approaching the Earth. As a result, the celestial body will appear very large on the horizon. This phenomenon occurs three to four times a year, where the moon appears up to 12 percent larger than in normal conditions.
