HISTORY OF BFV COSMOS

BFV Cosmos organizes Stamp Shows in Edegem/Antwerp in 1974, 1976 and 1977 and has meetings in Antwerp and in Gent.

In 1981, the first President of BFV Cosmos, Willy Van Nooten, dies suddenly. Vice-President Georges Lauwers becomes President.

In September 1981, BFV Cosmos organizes the first Cosmosphil '81 Exhibition in Edegem/Antwerp.

Due to the big success, BFV Cosmos organized the Cosmosphil '84 exhibition in 1984 for the first time in Gent in October 1984.

The third edition of Cosmosphil, Cosmosphil '87, takes place at the E.G.W. Hall in Gent in November 1987.

During months of preparation, members of S.A.F.A. prepared the new Regulations and Guidelines for Astrophilately. They were finally accepted by F.I.P. in 1985.

In 1987 BFV Cosmos published a complete magazine on the new Regulations and Guidelines for Astrophilately.

The fourth edition of Cosmosphil, Cosmosphil '91, on 4 a 5 May 1991 at the Sint Pietersabdij Exposition room, with special postmark.

In November 1996, BFV Cosmos celebrated its 25th Anniversary with its members and the Board of F.I.S.A. in Gent.

BFV Cosmos mourned when our President Georges Lauwers passed away after long sickness on May 15th, 2000.
